Meet Our Founder
Dr. Renesha Nichols, a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience, has dedicated her career to serving Hartford County. Her expertise spans crisis management, trauma work, school social work, education, community organizing, and individual and family counseling.

Dr. Nichols' mission is deeply personal. After the tragic loss of her children's father to brain cancer in 2015, she endured the profound pain of grief, single parenthood, and the difficult journey of rebuilding her life. Transforming her own pain into purpose, she now helps others reset after setbacks, loss, heartbreak, and failure by guiding them toward restoring their mental, emotional, and personal goals. Through R&R, Dr. Nichols strives to empower individuals to reset, revive, and rebuild their lives, fostering strength, resilience, and hope within her community.
The Reset & Restart Approach Method

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) offers a time-efficient and cost-effective alternative to long-term therapy, empowering goal-oriented individuals to actively address challenges. Clients learn problem-solving skills, identify resources, and take actionable steps to restore optimal health and regain daily functioning with renewed focus and confidence.
Holistic approach
Reset takes a holistic approach, understanding how environments and relationships impact overall well-being. By addressing these interconnected factors, we foster healing, growth, and long-term stability.
Client-Centered Strength-based approach
At Reset, we adopt a client-centered, strength-based approach, empowering individuals to recognize their inherent potential and capacity for growth. Instead of focusing on problems, we help clients build upon their unique strengths to foster meaningful change.
Systemic Approach
Reset employs a systemic approach, advocating for justice within fractured systems like education and law. By confronting these broader systemic challenges, we enhance mental and emotional well-being, particularly for children and marginalized communities. Partnering with community organizations, we drive systemic change for lasting transformation.

Our Mission
Supporting healthier individuals, healthier homes, and stronger communities.
